Course overview
About this course
Once you can fly safely in open areas, this course prepares you to work near towns, factories and crowds. You study weather, flight performance and ground-risk controls, and you build the practical skill to keep an aircraft predictable when people are nearby. It is the Indian counterpart of a closer-to-people subcategory.
| Format | Online modules plus practical flying and a practical declaration |

India context
What to know in India
- Flying near people needs extra caution under the Drone Rules; some areas are restricted regardless of pilot skill
- Keep aircraft registered and insured as required for your category
Drone rules in India are issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and managed through the Digital Sky platform. They change from time to time, so IDA admissions confirms the current requirement for your category and operation at enrolment.

Is this course theory only?
No. It has practical flying and an instructor check, because skill with a close-to-people mindset cannot be learned from slides.
Can I take it online?
The theory modules can be studied online; the practical must be done on campus.
